2007 was a drought year that dropped the water table far below the surface of the Daniela Block vineyard. These dry conditions decreased the amount of fruit produced, yielding less than a ton per acre. The Pinot Noir grapes from this14 acre vineyard in 2007 were concentrated in small clusters of tiny fruit.
Tasting Notes
Earthy aromas – Sous bois, loads of cherries and smoke. The flavors present are cherry and hints of strawberry jam, rhubarb and raspberry with a back drop of vanilla and toast. At the finish, a wisp of violet is present. The wine exhibits a brightness with fine grained tannins and a persistent finish. The wine shines a brilliant Garnet.
